Create the image, inspect the preview, and compare source and output sizes. Compression does not guarantee a smaller file for every source.
Choose the right format for the image.
WebP can preserve transparent areas and often works well for web graphics. JPEG is widely supported but fills transparent areas with white. Keep PNG when exact pixels or lossless output matter more than file size.
Check text at the final display size.
Fine interface labels and diagrams show compression artifacts sooner than large photographs. If the export looks soft, increase quality or keep the source dimensions.

Practical questions about image compressor.
Will the output always be smaller?
No. A source that is already optimized can produce a larger file. The tool shows both sizes so you can choose the better result.
Does JPEG keep transparent backgrounds?
No. Transparent pixels become white when you export JPEG. Choose WebP to retain transparency.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression uses the browser canvas and does not upload the selected file.
