Choose a short moment
Set the start time and a duration of up to eight seconds. Choose the longest edge and frame rate. Shorter clips and smaller dimensions generally make smaller files.
Create the GIF
The browser builds the frames locally. Review the animated result and download the GIF. You can cancel the conversion and try a different size without changing the original video.

GIF has no audio. Use it for a short interaction, a before/after change, or a visual result that makes sense without narration. For a longer explanation or spoken tutorial, a video file is usually the more suitable format.

Keep only the action and a brief pause on the result. Use eight frames per second for a smaller file, or twelve for smoother motion. GIF uses a limited color palette, so gradients and photographs may look different from the source video.
