Choose the source and the cut
Open a supported video and select the start time and duration. This lightweight tool creates clips up to thirty seconds long.
Set the new composition
Choose the aspect ratio and output size. Fit keeps the whole source visible with a background. Crop fills the output; use the framing sliders to keep the subject in view.
Create and review the video
Leave the tab visible during export. The browser re-encodes the clip and chooses MP4 or WebM according to its support. Preview the result, check audio if included, and download.
Fit and crop solve different problems.
Fit is useful when every part of the interface matters. It can leave empty space when the source and output ratios differ. Crop fills the frame but removes part of the source. Play the source and check that important controls do not move out of the selected region.
Resizing does not add detail.
A larger output cannot restore text or detail missing from the source. This browser tool re-encodes video at up to thirty frames per second, so it does not preserve the original encoding, bitrate, or every source frame. Keep the source file for your full-quality edit.
Use a dedicated edit for a moving subject.
The crop stays in the position you choose. For a tutorial that needs to follow different interface regions over time, use editable zoom and framing in Creavit Studio. Recheck captions and text overlays after changing a recording to a vertical layout.

Can I change a video from landscape to vertical?
Yes. Select Vertical 9:16, then choose Fit to preserve the whole picture or Crop to fill the frame. Adjust the framing before creating the output.
Will resizing preserve the original quality?
The original file stays unchanged, but the downloaded output is re-encoded at up to thirty frames per second. Dimensions, bitrate, and format can change. Review the result before using it.
Can I keep the original audio?
Yes. Leave Include original audio enabled. The browser includes the source audio when present and supported. Turn it off for a silent clip.
Why is my output WebM instead of MP4?
Browser encoders support different formats. The tool uses a supported MP4 encoder when available and otherwise exports WebM. The download button shows the actual format.
Is my video uploaded for resizing?
No. The selected file is decoded, drawn, and encoded in your browser. Keep the tab visible while the short clip is exported.
